Cottecele porremo a tempo molto commodo ;
le le porremo al naseere delle Stelle Plejadi
chiamate Gallinelle : e in que' giorni final-
mente, che avranno soffiato all'ai e inumidito
i Venti Allibrali. Perciocché le non sarà umi-
do allatto ciò che st avrà ad intonicare o im-
biancare ; non vi li attaccherà cola che vi si
metta, ma feiTe e spiccate l'uria dall' altra,
cadranno, e faranno per la scabrosità loro, il
lavoro men bello. Ma delle Corteccie e dclli
Imbiancamenti, più diffusamente tratteremo a
luogo loro. Ora avendo finiti i modi delle
cole, che si dovevano dire, palliamo alla con-
siderazione delle altre cose, più dipintamente.
E primieramente tratteremo di quante sorti
e varietà siano gli edificj, e di quello che a
qual lì è 1' Uno si aspetti : Dipoi degli orna'
menti degli edificj, ed ultimamente decorrere-
mo come si pollano rimediare i loro difet-
ti, che avvenuti sono, per colpa del Maestro,
o per ingiuria de' Tempi.

general consideration of our subjeft, it remains
that we descend to particulars ; and accord-
ingly we design to shew firfl: the different sorts
of Buildings, and the qualities requisite in each
of them; then their Ornaments; and laslly, how
to remedy such Defects in them as are owin° ei-
ther to the fault of the Workman, or the injury
of Time.
