mad. Some think the Mule does not want sò

her head, and that it is not at all the Worse

Let the ground under the Oxen be paved with
Stone, that the silth and dung may not rot their
hoofs. Under Horscs, make a trench in the
pavement, and cover it with planks of Holm or
Okc, that their urine may not settle under them,
and that by their pawing they may not spoyl
both their hoofs and the pavement.

Che la Industrìa del Fattore di Villa
si delle effcrcitare tanto circa i
Bestiami, quanto circa le Ricolte
e circa il sar TJja.
Iremo brevemente che la industria del
| [SVIj Fattore, non si eiTcrciterà solamente in
■ raccorre le cose che sono ne' campi; ma
innanzi ad ogni altra cosa, s'ingegnerà
che i Bestiami gli Uccelli e i Pesci fruttino.
Poni le Italie per gli Armenti in luogo aseiutto,
levane ogni minimo sasio di sotto, e sa che pen-
dano ; acciocché si portano vuotare e nettar sacil-
mente : cuopri una parte di loro, ed una parte ne
lascia allo seoperto, e ordina che i venti australi,
o qual'altro vento umido si voglia, non percuo-
tan la notte le pecore, e che non vi tirino ancora
altri venti troppo molesti. Ne' luoghi dove anno
a stare rinchiuiì i Conigli, savvi un muro di pie-
tre riquadrate insino al sondo dell'acqua, nello
spazzo favvi un suolo di Sabbione masehio, la-
seiando in più luoghi alcuni monticelli con terra
da saponc. Fa che le galline abbiano nel Cortile
loro un Portico volto a Mezzo giorno, sparsavi
sotto di molta cenere, e sopra detto Portico il luo-
go per li Nidi, e le staiighe da dormirvi sopra, la
notte. Sono alcuni che vorrebbono che le Galline
si tenestino rinchiuse in una gran cantina volta a
Levante : ma quelle che si tengono per aver delle
uova e de' Pulcini, siccome sono più allegre per
la libertà, così ancora son più seconde. L'uova
nate allo seuro e in luogo rinchiuso sono insipiJe.
Porrai la Colombaja, a vista dell'acqua, e non
troppo alta, ma così a modo : acciocché i Colombi
Bracchi dal volare, quali con l'ali scherzando liete,
s'allegrino

That the Indnssry of the Farmer
or Oversccr ought to he employed
as well about all sorts os Ani-
mals, as alout the Fruits of the
earth; as also of the constrritli-
011 of the Threjhing-ssoor.
E diali juft briefly mention that the in-
dustry of the Overseer, is not only to
be employed about gathering in the
Fruits of the earth, but also about
the management and improvement os cattel,
fowls, filh and other animals. Set the slails
for Cattle in a dry place, and never in a damp
one; clear away every little stone srom under
them, and make them with a slope, that you
may easily sweep and clean them ; let one
part of them be covered, and the other open,
and take care that no Southerly or other moist
wind can affefl the cattel in the night, and that
they besheltered from all other troublesome blafts.
For a place to keep rabbits in, build a wall
of square stone, with its soundations dug so
low as to be in water ; within the space en-
closed make a sloor os male sand, with lit-
tle hillocks here and there of suller's earth.
Let your Poultry have a fhed in the Yard
sacing the South, and thick strewed with allies,
and over this, places sor them to lay their
eggs, and perches to roost upon in the night.
Some are sor keeping their Poultry in large
Coops in sonie handfome inclosed area sacing
the East; but those that are design'd sor lay-
ing and hatching of eggs, as they are more
cheersul having their liberty, so too they are
more sruitsul ; whereas, those which are kept
in a dark consined place, illdom bring their
