SEPULCHRAL AMULETS.

1722. Upper part of a papyrus sceptre, xu> above a ring for suspension.
This amulet was ordered to be made of nis'em or green felspar, and to be placed
at the neck of the dead, by the 159th chapter of the Book of the Dead, or
Ritual. Its peculiar virtues or efficacy are not stated, § in. high. Sard.

1723. Tablet, hutu; on it, in profile, a papyrus sceptre, xu> aDove a reeded
ring for suspension. This is a sepulchral amulet ordered by chapter 160 of the
Book of the Dead, or Bitual, to be placed on the neck of the mummy, and to
be made of the stone uat, or green felspar. Many of these amulets are inscribed
with the formula of chapter 160. 1 in. high. Green felspar.

1724. Amulet tablet, with a rounded top, hutu, inscribed on both sides with
fourteen horizontal lines of hieroglyphs, facing to the right; on the obverse :
