gance of its parts. Many temples, and
other structures have been built of this
order in various parts of Greece and Italy.

singular, that on the Etruscan vases, whose
age we do not know and on pieces of an-
cient sculpture wherever columns are re-
presented, they most generally are marked
with the character of the Ionic volute,
although accompanied with the Doric
fluting.
