This reunion of three
plates présents skilful
geometrical disposi-
tions, proceeding from
the square, the octagon,
and the starshaped po-
lygon. The variety ot
thèse dispositions whill
be shovn by comparison
with the plates which we
shall not delay in furnis-
hing, in order to com-
plète as soon as possible
thèse interesting séries.
As toi' the application to
contemporary industry
of thèse patterns, -which
are distinguished by a
great frugality of colours
(two of three at the
most),the cabinet-work,
flooring, checker and m-
laid "work, mosaic, the
manufacture of painted
paper and glass-painting,
the ceramic (brick-pa-
ving), etc., will findthere
an ample provision ot
subjects as simple as in-
genious.
The six bands of which
our plate is composed
are : the lst with 45 stit-
ches, the 2»* with 43,
the 3<i with 25, the 4""
with 50, the with 17,
and the Gtii with 77 stit-

Cette réunion de trois
planches présente d'ingé-
nieuses dispositions géo-
métriques procédant du
carré, de l'octogone et du
polygone étoilé. La va-
riété de ces dispositions
ressortira de la compa-
raison des planches que
nous ne tarderons pas à
fournir pour compléter
au plus tôt cette suite in-
téressante. Quant aux
applications à l'industrie
contemporaine de ces
modèles qui se distin-
guent par une grande so-
briété de couleurs (deux
à trois tons au plus), l'é-
bénisterie, le parqueta-
ge, la marqueterie, l'in-
crustation, la mosaïque,
l'industrie du papier et
des vitraux peints, la cé-
ramique (carrelage),
etc., trouveront une
ample provision de mo-
tifs aussi simples qu'in-
génieux.
Les six bandes dont se
compose notre planche
sont : la lre à 45 points,
la 2» à 43, la 3« à 25,
la 4e à 50, la 5e à 17 et
