La bordure do cette riclie couverture est en or repoussé. Le
centre est émaillé et montre le Christ en croix ayant la Vierge
à sa droite et saint Jean à sa gauche. Ils sont obtenus, ainsi que
les anges du sommet, par la gravure au trait; les tûtes seules
sont en relief. Les fonds sont en émail bleu foncé orné d'un
semis de grands et petits fleurons bleus et blancs.
Le manuscrit est un évangéliaire du ixe siècle qui contient
plusieurs belles miniatures.

The etlgc of this rich cover is in embossod gold. Its enamellod
centre shows Christ on tho cross, with the Holy Virgin at the
right and saint John at the left. Thèse figures, as well as those
of the angcls at tho top,have bcen obtaincd through line-engrav-
ing; the heads only are in relief. The grounds are of a dark-
blue enamel cmbollished with a sprinkling of large, and small
flowers white and blue.
The manuscript is a book of the Evangils, from the ixth.
century, and contains scveral beautiful miniatures.
