Le céramiste persan semble ici s'être peu inquiété de la forme.
Pour les deux figures inférieures, sorte de brocs munis d'anses,
c'est simplement un tronçon de cylindre qu'il emploie, et dans
la figure du haut, c'est la forme usuelle des pots réduite à sa
plus simple expression. Quand on a à son service l'éclat des
couleurs et de l'émail persan, à quoi bon, en effet, se préoccuper
trop de la forme? Ces vases, en sortant de la main du peintre,
ne prennent-ils pas une valeur assez grande par les seules fleurs
qui ornent si harmonieusement leurs panses droites ou bombées?
Ne sont-ils pas agréables à la vue et n'offrent-ils pas un aspect
réjouissant? il faut en conclure que les formes simples se
prêtent souvent mieux que les formes recherchées à recevoir
une décoration polychrome, émaillée ou non.
Le fond des trois objets présentés ici est blanc et les couleurs
sont les couleurs primordiales, bleu, rouge, vert.
