La statue équestre de Vercingétorix, exposée en ce moment
au palais dos Champs-Elysées, nous a paru être du domaine de
l'Art pour tous. Elle a pour nous, indépendamment de ses qua-
lités de composition et d'exécution, le mérite particulier de
montrer, au grand complet et avec une fidélité scrupuleuse,
l'équipement d'un cavalier gaulois. Le statuaire, pour arriver a
cette vérité archéologique, n'a épargné aucune recherche, —
Nous montrons à la page suivante les documents qui lui ont
servi, et qui proviennent du musée, nouvellement créé, de
Sai nt-Germain-en-Laye.
