XIVe SIECLE. — école italienne. PORTRAIT. — MEDAILLON EN M ARRRE ,
(BIBLIOTHÈQUE NATIONALE, A PARIS.) PAR MINO DE F1ESOLE.
Ce médaillon, disposé au milieu d'un orbe à deux pointes, est
traité en demi-relief. Il montre, selon toute probabilité, les
traits d'une jeune princesse de la maison d'Esté. Le fond est
peint en bleu tandis que la torsade du cadre et les bijoux du
costume sont dorés. Le musée du Louvre possède plusieurs
bas-reliefs de Mino de Fiésole d'un beau caractère. Moitié de
l'original.

This medallion, placed in a mandorla, is executed in mezzo
relievo. It represents according to ail probabilities the portrait
of a young princess of the Este family. The ground is blue,
the corded part of the mandorla as well as the jewels of the
costume are gilt. The Louvre Muséum contains several bas-
reliefs of a line charâcter, executed by Mino da Fiesole. Half
size of the original.
