Le portail tout entier de l'église de Villeneuve-l'Archevequc
(Yonne) est un chef-d'œuvre d'architecture et de statuaire du
xinc siècle. Tout s'y trouve large, puissant, correct. L'imagier à
qui l'on doit la sculpture, et l'architecte qui l'a dirigée étaient des
maîtres d'un talent incontestable.

Statuary. Every part of it is masterlike, powerful, well reasoned.
The artist who executed the sculpture and the arrhitect who
planned it wero both indisputable masters of theirart.
