Cette lampe en bronze est une œuvre d'art remarquable et
en môme temps un objet historique important. — C'est lui qui,
pondu à la voûte de la cathédrale de Pise, fut cause par ses
oscillations isochrones,de la découverte du pendule, parGalilée.
— Les enfants qui supportent la partie supérieure en forme de
couronne, sont tous d'un modelé remarquable et d'un mouve-
ment naturel.

This bronze lamp lias an important historical as well as an
artistical value. Suspended at the vault of tho cathedral of
Pisa, it was its oscillations which led Galiloo tothe discovery of
the pendulum.

The children supporting the crowned shaped upper part arc
rcmarkable as regards the modelling, and their action is truc
to lifo.
