ce portrait, attribue à Clouet* nous représente la princesse
agée d'environ dix-huit ans.

Son visage porte les marques indélébiles de la maison d'Au-
triche, mais les yeux sont pleins de douceur et de beauté; le
front est celui d'une personne intelligente.

Toutefois c'est uniquement le costume que nous avons ici
Pour but de montrer.

This portrait, which is supposed to have been exocuted hy
Clouet, reprosents Elisabeth of Austria, wife of Charles IX"',
king of France, when she was eighteen yeais old or therea-
bouts. The face shows the characteristic featurcs of the house
of Austria, but the eyos are sweet- and beautiful. The forehead
indicates an intelligent person. We however reproduce tbis
portrait spocially to show the dress.
