un château, près de Soissons, en Picardie. Comment

Thèse earthcnwarc paving tiles of Italian ovigin have been
found in a manor, near Soissons, in Pieardy. How did tliey corne
to France to be used as paving tiles for one of the halls of the
„Château du Vignon", nobody knows, and it would bc interest-
ing to know how this happened. We show only two of thèse tiles
in full, contenting ourselves to indicate how they werc joined
one with the other; — it is howevor enough to give an idea of
the whole paving and of the liveliness it impartcd to the hall.
