usually decided to accept the formula of maximum aesthetics, decorative, sometimes
with respect to genre. His pictures are definitely of the “monistic” structure and are
of one-dimensional naturę, and besides “The Ninth Wave” or “The Rainbow” they

ticism. Anaiysing the motif from this point of view, we can see that despite its
popularity, it was the secondary motif in Ajwazowski’s creation, the motif of lower
rank which deserved only to be considered in a decorative expression or with respect
to genre.
