Series of Bronze Deposits buried by Catastrophe of L. M. la Date.

The truly palatial hoard of bronze vessels found in the basement cell of Bronze
the Treasury building North of the West Court is really a culmination of a town-
series of bronze deposits brought to light in the town-houses explored. The Jv0uses of
consideration of these has been reserved for this place, since, together with
the former, they supply a conspectus, not to be paralleled from any other
sources, of forms of bronze vases and implements, all belonging, as their
context shows, to the transitional M. M. Ill b-h. M. I a phase of culture, and
none of them later than the earlier phase of the First Late Minoan
Period. That, even when accompanied by vases of that epoch, metal objects m. m.
may tend to belong to a slightly earlier date than the associated pottery is a L w"-.
reasonable conclusion, and it has already been shown r that a bronze ewer date.
