Militaristic Aspects of New Dynasty at Knossos: the ' Shield Fresco'.

It has been remarked that the last Palatial phase at Knossos presents

a military and indeed militaristic aspect. Its most prominent feature, when

the residential Quarter was still complete, must have been the great Shield

Fresco ' winding clown from story to story along the descending walls of its
