e la desideriamo emendata. La cagione perchè com
avvenga non lappimi noi : nientedimeno sé ne
fulsimo domandati, non (ària nessuno che non di-
celle ch'ella li potrebbe rimediare e correggere :
Ma non skpranno già trovare il modo da rimediarvi
sé non coloro che saranno in ciò pratichi ed eter-
cirarillimi. Egli è osficio d' uomo savio averli da

Lake Nemorcnsis from the very Foundations, and
compleated it at vail Expence, pull'd it all
down again, because it was not cxaftly in all
respefls to his Mind. E'or which he is certainly
very much to be blamed even by us his Pclleritv,
either for not sufficiently conlidcring what was
reejuilite at firsl, or else afterwards for dissiking
thro levity what might really not be amils. I
therefore always highly- commend the ancient
Cultom of Builders, who not only in Draughts
and Paintings, but in real Models of Wood or
other Subitanee, examin'd and weigh'd, over and
over again, with the Advice of Men of the bell
Experience, the whole Work and the Admeasure-
nients of all its Parts, before they put themselves
to the Expence or Trouble. By making a Model
you will have an opportunity, thoroughly to
weigh and consider the Form and Situation of
your Platform with respetfl id the Region, what
Extent is to be allow'd to it, the number and
order of the Parts, how the Walls are to be made,
and how (Irong and firm the Covering; and in
a word all thole particulars which we have spoken
of in the preceding Book : and there you may
casily and freely ad I, retrench, alter, renew,
