Nous ignorons d'où provient cet intéressant panneau de
bois; mais on doit y voir, il nous semble, un des épisodes
de la royauté de Henri III en Pologne. Ici, le jeune prince
fait son entrée dans son nouveau royaume. Il est à cheval,
précédé et suivi de deux nobles polonais. Le cadre de cette
scène est du meilleur goût et d'une savante exécution, mais
les personnages, en revanche, sont légèrement naïfs. Nous ap<
pelons l'attention du lecteur sur l'architecture qui compose le
fond.

We do not know where this interesting wood panel lias corne
from ; but we think we may safely enough give it as representing
one of the épisodes of tbe reign of Henry III., in Poland. The
young prince is here represented as making his entry into lus
new kingdom. He is on horseback with two noble Pôles, tbe one
before, tbe otber bebind. Tbe framo of that scène is of the best
style and of a skilful exécution ; but the personages, it must be
admittcd.are rather naively treated. We call the reader's atten-
tion to tbe architecture which forms the back ground.
