Ce casque est, à n'en pas douter, d'origine italienne; c'est une
pièce remarquable par la beauté de sa forme générale et par le
fini des personnages, des trophées et ornements qui le décorent.
Il est ciselé et damasquiné d'or ; il porte des oreillères, un
cimier et un couvre-nuque. Le sujet en ronde bosse représente
un combat entre des guerriers équipés et armés à la romaine.

Tliis helmet is inost undoubledly of Italian origin ; it is very
rcmarkable l'or tbe beauty of its gênerai form and the finish of
the figures, trophies and ornaments which decorate it. It is
chased and damaskeened in gold; it lias ear-flaps, a crest and
a neck ])iece. The subject in semi-relief represents a combat
butween warriors equipped and armed in the old Roman style.
