Voici un second fragment du jubé de Limoges dont nous
avons parlé dans l'Art pour tous, page 1329. Les qualités d'ar-
rangement et d'exécution sont les mêmes qu'au motif précé-
demment reproduit; même facilité, même verve et même façon
de comprendre le relief. Les figures et certains feuillages sont
fort saillants, et, au fur et à mesure que les rinceaux arrivent à
leur extrémité, le relief devient pour ainsi dire insensible et
acquiert, surtout dans les tiges, une finesse qui tient du pro-
dige. C'est là une des particularités de toute la sculpture du
jubé de Limoges, une des belles cboses de la Renaissance fran-
çaise.

We give bere another spécimen of the Limoges' rood-loft
already mentioned (Art pour tous, p. 1329). The exécution and
arrangement présent the qualities we have already noticed in
the first spécimen reproduced; same flowness, spirit andmanner
of understanding the relief.
ïhe figures and part of the foliage are very projecting, and
tins relief particularly for the wreaths when they terminate
cornes to nothing, more noticeably as regards the stems which
have a marvellous tenuity. This is one of the characteristics
of the Limoges' rood-loft, one of the finest works of the French
Renaissance.
