sculpture champenoise. bas-relief de l'église saint-pantaléon, a troyes.
Ce bas-relief en marbre blanc, représentant la sainte Trinité,
fait partie de la porte d'un tabernacle à l'un des autels. Il existe
dans la jolie et gracieuse église de Saint-Pantaléon. Le Père
éternel, coiffé d'une tiare rappelant vaguement le bonnet des
grands-prêtres bébreux, tient en ses bras son Fils descendu do
la croix, tandis que l'Esprit-Saint, sous forme de colombe, se
pose sur son épaule. Le globe terrestre est à leurs pieds, et des
anges personnifiant la force, la foi, l'espérance et la charité
volent au milieu des nuages et des rayons solaires. Nous ignorons
quel est l'auteur de ce bas-relief remarquable à tant do titres.

This white marble bas-relief representingthe Holy Trinity, déco-
râtes a door of onc of the altar-tabernacles, in the charming and
gracious church dedicated to S. Pantaleone. The Eternal Father
crowned with a tiara which recals the cap of the Hebrew Grand
Priest holds in lus arms The Son, whilst The Holy Ghost in the
shape of a dove rests on bis shoulder. At their feet stands the
tcrrestrial globe and angels pcrsonifying Force, Faith, Hope and
Charity hover amidst clouds and solarrays.
We ignore the name of the author of this work of art remar-
kable fort its many qualities.
