Ce siège, en marbre blanc, est un des plus beaux objets
sculptés du Musée d'antiquité du Louvre. Les griffons ailés sont
particulièrement beaux et d'une exéculion qui ne laisse rien à
désirer. Le tout est magistral et imposant.

This white marble seat is one of the finest spécimens of
sculpture of the Louvre collection. The gryphi are particu-
larly fine, and their exécution leavcs nothing to wiah for.
