Le bas-relief et son encadrement sont reproduits ici de la
grandeur même de l'original. On s'imagine facilement que,
Malgré l'intérêt de la scène sculptée, c'ebt la bordure que nous
tenons à montrer de préférence. Celle-ci, en effet, est char-
mante de tous points. Le musée de Cluny possède toute une
suite d'objets identiques dont les sujets sont : la Cène, la Ré-
SUlTection des morts, la Vierge et l'enfant Jésus, la Résurrec-
tl(>n du Christ, un Ecce Homo, la Mise en croi.x, la Descente
<'e croix et la Présentation au peuple.

Tins alabaster bas-relief with its gilt paste border is repro-
duced full size. Notwithstanding the interest presented l>y the
sculptured scène, we wisli more particularly to show the border
which is charming at ail points of view. The Cluny Muséum
possesses a séries of bas-reliefs of the kind, ihe scènes of which
represent : the Lord's Supper; the Raising of the Dead : the
Holy Virgin and Infant Christ; the Résurrection of Our Lord;
an Ecce Homo; the Crucifixion; the Des eut from the Cross,
and the Présentation.
