Tout n'est pas digne d'éloges dans co plafond du xvic siècle,
et la composition centrale représentant la création du firma-
ment n'est guère à comparer à celle de Raphaël. — Les rayons
qui entourent cette peinture sont aussi d'un goût douteux, mais
°n peut, en revanche, affirmer que les autres sujets et toute
' ornementation ne laissent rien à désirer comme agencement
et comme exécution.

This italian ceiling, a work of the xvi'b century, docs no
doserve unrestricted praise, and the central composition, the
création of the world cannot in the lcast be compared to Ra-
faello's— the more, that the rays encircling it are of a verjr
doubtful taste ; but in return ono may assert that ail the other
compositions and the whole of the ornementation leave notliins
ivûiifctftn ûbrig Injftii. \ to wish for as regards arrangement and exécution.
