forschung”: characterizacion of artistic phenomena in national-ethnic and state categories, a conviction that
interpretation of artistic processes of Eastern Central Europe in perspective of eastern colonization is the
highest from of historical-artistic synthesis. After World War II art history was allegedly abandoning these
assumptions. The author notices that in “disguise” they are still holding and that in the face of the current
political changes in Europe they may be an important factor in the research of art history. What is indis-
pensable is the critical reflection on these assumptions.
