and Agag ?). Causa XXI has another very elaborate piece
of ornament in the lower margin. The work is French, very
fine, dry, and crisp in style.” M.R.J.

50-58 lines : no ornament.

of each quire is a narrow strip of vellum, to take the pull of
the string : except in quire 22, in which folios 4 and 5 are
all vellum.]

Old binding, repaired in Oxford in 1913. Text in an irregular
column of 20-25 lines to the page, with notes between lines
and around. Capital letters slightly ornamented : one good
initial to the preface, another better, with figure, to Genesis :
that to Exodus cut out.
On fol. 1 :
M. Johannes Castyll.
[John Castell was Penitentiary of the Cathedral, and,
as such, held the Golden Prebend, 1414-1430.]
