Statuette of a

goddess Mut " named Mut-sepi. She holds

before her a figure wearing the double crown

At the back the figure is supported by a column
upon which is inscribed a vertical line of hiero-
glyphs recording that Mut-sepi came to the temple-
court to bow down before (lit. "smell the earth")
the Mistress of Heaven (the goddess Mut). The
line reads :

Upon the right-hand side of the column or pedestal
is another vertical line of hieroglyphs giving the
name of Mut-sepi's son "who made to live her

name." He is called ^ | ^ Horuza and was

apparently a high priest of the goddess Mut

(tm^'^q^n lit. "Opener of the two doors

of the house of gold of Mut"). His father's

name ^ ^ Ankh-Hapi is also given; he bore

the title of the high priest of Amen. The whole
inscription reads :
