A female figure with floating hair stands lifting up her robe in

from the ground, like 44 ears of human corn ” (Keynes),

[385-472], Designs to Jerusalem.

Though the title-page bears the date 1804, the poem was not
completed till 1818. Keynes describes six copies; one is in the
British Museum, another in the Fitzwilliam Museum. General
Stirling's is the only complete coloured copy. In Chapter II, the
British Museum copy and the Linnell copy (now belonging to
Mr. Frank Rinder) agree in the arrangement of pages, but differ from
the other copies. Dr, Keynes says that he has followed the arrange-
ment of the Museum copy and of General Stirling's copy; but these are
not the same. Actually, he has followed the order of pages in General
Stirling's copy; and the same order is followed in this catalogue.

Dimensions of page : about 8| X 6J in.

385. Frontispiece.

A man in hat and cloak, seen from behind, about to enter a Gothic
doorway ; he carries a fiery globe in his right hand ; his left hand is
raised.
