text is interrupted by horizontal designs of moons and stars; old
men dragging a comet, with a female figure catching stars; and the
same motive repeated, with a female figure floating in flame.

by Hand “ with cruel stripes,” through ** the streets of Babylon.”

great roots of trees and rocks. (3) Many figures under roots and
rocks.
The page is symbolic of humanity becoming more and more
enslaved to the material world.

stormy sea under black rain, A cherub with outstretched wings is
in the ship, Lower down, a chain of women grasping each other.

one of his Daughters ; another Daughter winds a cord from his navel,
