XXIX. (58) Vase in the form of female figure, reclining.
The left elbow rests on a cushion; the right hand rests on
the right knee, which is bent nearly at the same angle as
the left knee ; the body is clad in a talaric chiton, which
has been painted red; the hair falls in long tresses over
the breast; the head is surmounted by the mouth of the
vase; the left hand holds some object to the breast. Care-
lessly modelled. Height, 2f in. by 4 in.
XXX. (59) Naked boy, crouching, with left leg bent
under him ; his left hand resting on a plinth ; his right
hand resting on his right knee, which is bent; his head
inclined towards his right shoulder, and thrown back.
Height, 5 in.
(60) Another; similar. The right hand rests on the
plinth in front of the right knee, which is bent; the head
thrown back, and looking to the left. Much injured.
Height, 3| in.
XXXI. (61) Similar figure, squatting; the forefinger of
his right hand presses his lips. Height, 3 in.
XXXII. (62) Similar figure, seated. His right hand
rests on his right knee, which is bent; his left on his left
knee; his left leg and thigh rest on the ground, doubled
back. On his head is a conical cap, pilos, painted white, his
face and body are painted pink; on his chest are white
flowers with a blue centre. Height, 4f in.
XXXIII. (63) Negro, crouching. His right elbow rests
on his right knee; his head, inclined over his right
shoulder, rests on his right hand ; his left arm and hand
rest on his left thigh, of which the leg is doubled back;
the hair closely cut, the forehead running far back; traces
of red colour in places. Height, 4| in.
(64) Similar figure ; the position of the right leg slightly
varied. Height, 4^ in.
(65) Similar figure. Height, 4i in.
(66) Similar figure; broken at the base. Height, 3|- in.
(67) Similar figure. His weight rests on his left leg
doubled back; he leans forward, resting both hands clasped
on his right knee, which is bent nearly at a right angle;
his head rests on his hands. Height, 4| in.
XXXIV. (68) Grotesque figure in the same attitude. He
has long pointed ears ; on his head is a stephane; his lips
are full, like a negro's, but the features are rather those of
a Satyr. Height, 4 in. Salzmann, Necropole de Camiros.
