XXXV. (69) Seilenos, squatting; his weight resting on
his left leg doubled back. His right hand rests on his
right knee ; in his left hand a drinking horn, Jceras ; he is
bearded, and bald over the forehead; above each temple a
projecting ear. Height, 3f- in.

XXXVI. (70) Seilenos, squatting on his hams ; resting a
hand on either knee. This and No. XXXV. are Later
Archaic. Height, 3 in.

XXXVII. (71) Seilenos, squatting on his hams, press-
ing his paunch with both hands ; he is ithyphallic. Height,
3£ in. For this type, see Salzmann, Necropole de Camiros.

(72-75) Four similar figures, rather smaller ; on two of
them are remains of red colour.

XXXVIII. (76) Grotesque male figure, carrying on left
shoulder a smaller male figure. Both wear on their heads
a cap with a projecting brim, but are otherwise naked.
The larger figure is very fat; his left hand presses against
his abdomen which is protuberant and furrowed with
horizontal wrinkles ; from his left wrist hangs a square
purse; his knees are bent forward, his face beardless. The
smaller figure is naked, and appears to be a child. There
are traces of red colour on this terracotta, which is modelled
at the back, and, if Archaic, is a very late specimen.

XXXIX. (77) Vase in form of grotesque male figure,
who places both hands on his projecting paunch. The hair
is painted red; the head surmounted by the mouth of the
vase, which has been painted green. He is beardless and
youthful ; he crouches with bent knees ; on his feet are
sandals, painted red. Later Archaic. Height, 5f in.

XL. (78) Vase in the form of a kneeling Satyr, who
rests both hands on his knees. His head is surmounted by
the mouth of the vase, painted red; his nose is very short
and low on the bridge; the eyes large and staring, the
mouth wide, the lips painted red ; his beard extends from
below his ears to his breast, where it tapers to a point ; its
surface is quite smooth ; the hair was probably indicated
by colour ; over his forehead is a diadem ; the ears long
and pointed, painted red inside ; his hair falls in a wavy
mass cut off square between the shoulders; the left ear
broken off. Later Archaic. Height, 6^- in.

XLI. (79) Vase in the form of a naked male figure,
kneeling; the palms of the hands resting on the knees;
