practical use theoretical prescriptions of eminent economists from the turn
of the seventeenth century. The main motivation behind this activity was to
bring famę and glory to the Radziwiłł name and to equal the king himself,
August II, the authority on mdustrial matters. Appreciating an extraordinary
contribution of this family, especially that of Princess Anna Radziwiłł and, on
her influence, her sons Michał Kazimierz and Hieronim Florian, to the
development of manufactures, one is bound to count them among the pioneers
of the Polish industry in the eighteenth century.
