with a number of figures of saints and

lia.—The whole machine is dressed out
with orange-trees, ssower-pots, and trees
of artificial corah The car slopped every
fifty or sixty yards, when the orchestra
performed a piece of music, with songs in
honour of the saint. It appeared a moving
castle, and completely filled the great street
from side to side. This indeed was its
greatest disadvantage, for the space it had to
move in was in no wise proportioned to its
lize, and the houses seemed to dwindle
away to nothing as it passed along. This
