pierced. On one side are inscribed a figure of the

god Ptah H in a shrine, and the legend, I X

fo£=- $ i 1» " Beautiful Ptah, Aa-Xeperu-Ra " (i.e.,
Amen-hetep II., king of Egypt, about B.C. 1450), and
on the other a figure of the king holding a hatchet 1
in the right hand and a shield in the left; by his
side is his prenomen ( <j3=a f§ | 1 • On one edge is

inscribed -fl^, "Giver of beautiful life," and on
the other an ureeus tff\, and an urasus twined round
