Prof. Dr. A. Miethe’s
( Charlottenburg) Opinion
of the Heliar Lens
“The Heliar Lenses I have proved to be
exceptionally fine. The larger sizes, as Portrait-
lenses, give grand results; and the smaller sizes,
when used on Hand or Field Cameras, give the
most perfect results. They answer all purposes,
and all sizes work at the full aperture of F4.5.
The three separate Lenses are made of colorless
glass and are rather thin.
“Attention should be drawn to the absolute
absence of coma, which is a matter of great im-
portance to the portrait-photographer. By this a
perfectly black image is insured, the utmost margins of field is guaranteed, and the plate is,
even at full aperture, perfectly free from that haze of light which covers the image of many
luminous lenses. Of course, this property has enormous value for the Portrait-photographer,
becaause it effects much greater brilliancy of image.”
