PRINT until the highlights are well tinted.
WASH through six changes of water about

DIRECTIONS
PRINT until the higblightsare well tinted.
WASH througb eix ehanges of water about
70 degrees temperature, eeparating theprints
thoroughly in each water.
FIX twenty minutes, or until the shadows
are well cleared up, iu hypo hath 30 grains
hydrometer test, or 4 ozs. hypo crystals to 32
oz8. of water. Handie the prinfcs over in this
bath and keep them well separated*
Take the priufcs from the hypo bath into a
salt bath of 4 ozs. of common ealt to a gallon
of water. Keep the prints well separated in
this bath for ten minutes. Then wash one
hour in running water, or sixfceen changes
by hand, separating the prints thoroughly in
each water. Dry befcween clean photographic
biotters.

AKOTHER FORMUJLA
For Purple Tones
After printing, place prinfca one at a time,
face down, into a tray containing 1(> ozs. of
water, to which has been added ooe-quarter
oz. of common salfc. When prints are all
in, turn over the entire bateh hringing the
fir8t prints in, to the top* In this solution
the prints should be kepfc in motion and thor-
onghly separated. Allow them to remain In
thjs splution untii they tum to a purple tint,
wben the desired tone is reached transfer to
a tray of clear water where they are left un-
iil the entire batch is fconed, fchen transfer to
anotber fcray of clear water containing just
enough sal-soda to make ifc feel smooth to the
touch. Handle the prints over in this water
fOr five minutea. Then remove them to hypo
bafch,and fix and finally wash according to
the direcfcions given above.
TO FtATTEN PRINTS
Proceed as follows: Take a piece of two or
three inch gas pipe or a paste-board mailmg
tube two feet long and cover it with clean
paper, pasting the paper to the tube. Cuta
strip of heavy sfcrong paper several yards long
and two feefc wide, rofl same around tube,
after a couple of turns roll the prints m face
down betweeh paper and tube—contmue to
roll until all prints are in and lefc them stana
for an hour. Should prints curl too mucn
reverse and put in rol) for five or ten mmutes.
