437. Statuette, of calcareous stone. Height, 8? inches. Found in the ruins of
Idalium.

The figure is broken off at the elbows, and represents a female, with a pointed
head-dress, or hood; large, circular ear-rings; a necklace and pendant round the throat,
and a larger necklace on the breast, with acorn-like pendants. The robe is marked by narrow,
parallel folds. The nose is damaged; otherwise, the fragment is in good preservation.

438. Statuette, of calcareous stone. Height, 1 foot 1 inch. Found in the temple
(Golgoi).

The figure is broken off below the knee of the right leg, and the left foot; the
arms hang by the sides, the left leg advanced. Short-sleeved chiton, reaching to the
knees, and over it a himation, thrown over the left shoulder and around the body.
Spiral armlets on the arms. Hair rendered in short, curling locks. The nose is mutilated.
Surface well preserved.

439. Statuette, of calcareous stone. Height, 1 foot yt inches. Found in the temple
(Golgoi).

Figure of a woman, holding fruit in a fold of her robe. Her right hand is
occupied with the fruit. She wears a pointed head-dress, or hood; a chiton, with short
sleeves, marked with ribbed surface, and over it a himation. An under-garment is detailed,
which hangs down from the left shoulder, is carried round and across the body, and
thrown over the left forearm. Large, circular ear-rings, ornamented by spiral lines, and
necklace; around the head, in front of the hood, a band of rosettes. The face is
mutilated; the feet are wanting. Surface much worn, and lower corners broken off. The
two garments are partially rendered on the back.

440. Statuette, of calcareous stone. Height, 1 foot 73 inches. Found in the ruins
of Idalium.
