625. Calcareous stone. Height, 2 feet 1 inch. From the necropolis (Golgoi).
Fragment of a mortuary stele, surmounted by a crouching lion, the front part of

which is wanting. In the recess, a reclining female figure, without the head, left shoulder,
and arm, which are broken away. At her feet stands a draped figure, holding a vase
in the left hand. Both figures are sculptured in relief. A relief ornament of a branch
with leaves round the border.

626. Calcareous stone. Height, 1 foot 5| inches. Found in the temple (Golgoi).
Slab, with low relief, of lion attacking a bull (?). Heads and upper part of the

animals' bodies obliterated. On either side, a human figure, standing, turned towards the
centre group. The figure on the right is dressed in a long robe, but nearly defaced.
The figure on the left holds a phallus (?).

627. Calcareous stone. Height, 1 foot 51 inches; thickness, 2 inches. From the
temple (Golgoi).

A slab, having in relief two lions rampant, attacking a human figure, who stands
between them, facing to the left. The upper part of the relief is almost entirely effaced.

628. Calcareous stone. Height, 1 foot 6 inches. From the necropolis (Golgoi).

In relief, two figures, reclining, with heads resting on the left arm, supported by
pillows. The figure on the right is.partly concealed by the other, and the slab is broken
off at the right shoulder of the latter. In the right hand of each figure is a bag, or
purse, much defaced. The whole surface is much worn, and the style is of a late
period.

629. Calcareous stone. Height, 1 foot 11 inches. From the necropolis (Golgoi).
Fragment of a sepulchral relief, representing a male figure, resting the cheek on

the left hand, which raises a portion of his drapery. The style of face is Roman.
