274. Red terra cotta, exterior now gray. Height, 6% inches. Found at Soli, or
Cythrea.

Draped female dancer. This is one of a numerous series, some of which, like this one,
have a pointed head-dress, but others a flat-topped one. Peplos hanging from the head-dress,
down the back and over the arms; hair in a roll over the forehead, with tresses hanging to the
shoulders; throat-necklace with beads and pendant; a second necklace with pendant between
the breasts; chiton ; himation over the left shoulder, winding atiout the body below the breasts
ike a large sinus (or kolpos). The figure seems to be a dancer in the character of Aphrodite.
The series belonged to groups of five, dancing in a circle, with a central figure. Right arm and
left hand broken away.

275. Red terra cotta. Height, 6% inches. Found at Soli, or Cythrea. One of the
same series as the last, but at rest.

Figure like the Aphrodite of Plate XXXII., Nos. 272, 273; pointed head-dress; peplos
reaching to the feet; throat-necklace with circular brooch; two lower necklaces, one with beads,
the other with pendants; taenia holding diploi's by a circular clasp between the breasts; chiton
reaching to the feet. Extension from the shoulders, like the arms of No. 274, as if the arms of a
figure behind, dancing in a ring about Aphrodite. One of these extensions partly broken away.

276. Red terra cotta, exterior now creamy gray. Height, 6% inches. Found at same
place as last.

Figure of the class mentioned at No. 274, and of nearly the same description. Both
arms broken away.

277. Red terra cotta, exterior now creamy gray. Height, 4% inches. Found at same
place as last.

Upper portion of figure of same series and description as No. 274; but round flat-topped
