Plate LI.

All found near the temple of Artemis Paralia, at Kiti, or the Salines, near Larnaca.

390. Red terra cotta. Height, 2% inches.

Fragment of figure supporting on the head, by the left arm, some object which is too much
broken away to be determinable. Head with round cap (pilleus). Probably the right arm (now
broken away) assisted in supporting the object. Good Greek style.

391. Red terra cotta. Height, 2% inches.

Upper portion of female figure, of good Greek style ; seated on the ground. Head and
body enveloped in (peplos or) himation, which covers all of the face below the nose, yet disclosing
the left arm resting in the lap, and the right hand raised to the chin to hold up the edge of
the mantle.

392. Gray terra cotta. Height, 2-/V inches.

Seated female figure, clad in chiton and himation, the latter hanging over the left shoulder
and across the lap. Colored red throughout. Head, forearms, and tips of feet broken away.

393. Red terra cotta, exterior now grayish salmon color. Height, 2 inches.

Head and mutilated bust of a female figure ; of good Greek style. Hair in twisted rolls
over the forehead ; ear-rings ; peplos over the head, probably supported by a pointed head-dress,
whose tip is now broken away. Clothing apparently a chiton.

394. Red terra cotta, exterior now gray. Height, 2^ inches.

Fragment of draped female figure, of good Greek style. Right arm raised to the head, to
support some object that, with the forearm, is nearly all broken away ; but its base is round, and
suggests a water jar. Hair in rolls over the forehead. Clad in a sleeveless chiton. Left
arm missing.

395. Red terra cotta, exterior now gray. Height, 2% inches.

Mutilated fragment of female figure, of good Greek style ; hair in curls about forehead ;
