470. Height, 7^ inches. Found at Dali (Potamia).

Male head ; beardless ; with wreath of leaves, and hair visible in curls under the wreath.
Broken away, and chipped, here and there.

471. Red terra cotta, exterior now yellowish gray. Height, 1% inches. Found at
Dali (Potamia).

Male head ; beardless ; with hair in bandeaux, and above them the fragments of a wreath.
Somewhat broken and chipped. Neck broken off, and reset.

472. Red terra cotta. Height, 12^ inches. Found at the temple of Apollo Hylates,
near Curium.

Rude figure; body turned on a wheel, elliptical from shoulders to neck, round and
tapering somewhat from shoulders to feet. Indication of neck-tendons and collar-bone ; feet,
shod, project below ; right arm uplifted, wanting the hand ; breasts indicated by small knobs.
Head thrown back; about it fragments of a wreath still remaining. Nose large, slightly
retrousse. Eyes and lips strongly moulded. Colored red throughout. Left arm broken away.

473. Height, 7 inches. Found at the temple of Apollo Hylates, near Curium.

Male head, bearded ; hair short and close ; countenance that of a man of early middle
age. Now in the Musee du Louvre, Paris.

474. Red terra cotta, exterior now yellowish gray. Height, 6% inches. Found at Dali
(Potamia).

Beardless male head, with prominent nose; appearance that of approaching old age.
Much damaged.
