i. Patera with omphalos. Silver, corroded to grey colors. Height of edges, \y2 inches.
Diameter 6y$ inches. Found at Curium.
Shaped like a high saucer, with gentle curvature from bottom about two-thirds of extent.
Thence the curve is more abrupt to lip, which is reinforced by thickening. Corroded and perfor-
ated at several points. Omphalos surrounded by ornamental band with transverse flutings in low
relief.
2. Patera, with omphalos. Silver. Grey tints. Height, \l/% inches, diameter 6l/% inches.
Found at Curium.
Similar to the foregoing. No decoration about omphalos.
3. Patera with omphalos. Silver. Grey and steel color. Height iyg inches. Diameter
65/i6 inches. Found at Curium.
The omphalos is in low relief. Bottom is decorated with rosette of almond-shaped petals
(sixteen in all) in relief on outside. The lip reverses the curve of the side gently and droops
slightly.
4. Patera with omphalos. Silver. Corroded. Dark colors. Height i5/i6 inches. Diam-
eter 6%e inches. Found at Curium.
About the omphalos is a band of gold decoration (not quite complete) showing a row of
palmettes and lotus flowers alternating. The detail of the palmettes is particularly fine.
5. Patera, with omphalos. Silver. Corroded. Shades of dark grey. Height about i5/ie
inches. Diameter 7^ inches. Found at Curium.
The bottom is almost flat, and the sides rise rapidly to the lips, which flare outward and
slightly downward, reversing the curve. The inside is decorated with a rosette of about forty-
eight lance-shaped petals, the edges of which are in relief on the inside of the patera. The whole
is badly corroded, almost all of the edge being gone, and many holes having been eaten through.
