1797.

thereupon, transmit to the Court of Nizamut Adawiut a complete and
exact counterpart of the original record of all proceedings held and papers
received relative to such trial, with an English letter, stating their opinion
on the evidence and on the guilt or innocence of the prisoners. The
record to be so transmitted is to be authenticated by the signature of the
judge and seal of the law officer before whom the trial may have been
held, and is to include the whole of the proceedings held before the
of (ATcazf with every examination, exhibit, or material paper, of whatever
denomination, taken by, or delivered to that court, and the Persian trans-
lations of all examinations taken down in any other language than the
Persian, in conformity to Section VII. Regulation IV. 1797. The whole
of the proceedings and papers received from the magistrate upon the case
referred are also to be annexed to, and transmitted with the proceedings
of theCoM^o/* but any variations between the depositions of
the witnesses before the magistrates and Eba-rE of (ATcMzY are to be care-
fully noticed on the proceedings of the latter, as directed in the seventh
clause of Section VII. Regulation IV. 1797; and any confessions of the
prisoners before the magistrate, any inquest taken in cases of homicide,
or any other evidence appearing on the proceedings of the magistrates, are
to be entered with the necessary proofs on the proceedings of the EbaW of
EzrcMzY.
III. The * to the Nizamut Adawlut, on receipt of the trials
transmitted to that court under the preceding section, shall as soon as
possible make, or cause to be made, by his assistants, a true and faithful
translation into the English language of the whole of the proceedings
held before the of (Vrcazf with any confessions of the prisoners
before the magistrate, and such other parts of the magistrate's proceedings
as may have been entered upon the proceedings of the of (ATcmY.
If the zb-tm-sVaEr to the Nizamut Adawlut and his othcial assistants be
unable, on any particular occasion, from the pressure of other business, to
make an early translation of the proceedings and papers so received, he
may, with the court's sanction, cause the same to be translated by any

ALEV. 1797 ; and the person making such translations, who is to
subscribe his signature thereto, will be held responsible for their accuracy.
But no translation is to be made by any ozAey person ?Aa% zAo Ab^-yzazz

sanction of the court.
