1. THE rules contained in Regulation VII. 1799, for enabling proprie-
tors and farmers of land to realize their rents with punctuality in the
provinces of Bengal, Behar, and Orissa, being equally applicable to the
province of Benares, as well as the provisions in that Regulation respect-
ing public sales of land for arrears of revenue, when such sales may be
ordered by the Governor-General in Council, under Sections XVII.
XVIII. and XIX. Regulation VI. 1795. For the extension of the above
rules and provisions, with such other parts of Regulations VII. 1799, as
are consistent with the rules prescribed in Regulation VI. 1795, for col-
