with the Zillah and City Courts, and generally with all public officers, in
like manner as the TVoz'zzzczzz/ GozzzTd are authorized to correspond with
such public officers, and to perform all miscellaneous duties arising out of
such correspondence, or incident to the necessary discharge of the usual
functions of an officiating judge of a TVoczzzczzzJ 6V?zzT q/ xfppczzJ; zzAw A

V. In the execution of the duties prescribed by the preceding section, a
single judge of aTVoczzzczzzJ UozzzT q/AjqyczA, or an acting judge appointed
tp officiate as such zcAczz zzozzc q/* Acy'zzz/ycd' q/zz TVozzz'zzczzz/ GozzzT zzzzzyAc^c-
^czzz^ zz^ Ac ^AAozz zcAcz-c Ac cozzzT zv Ac^Z, shall possess the same powers as
are vested by the Regulations in the court collectively, subject to the
several restrictions specified, and also to the further restriction noticed in
the following section.
VI. In the event of any witness who may be examined by a single
judge of a TVzzzfzzzczzT GozzzT, or by a person appointed to officiate as such,
or Ay Ac rcyzbAr q/* Ac Tb'zzvzzzczzz/ WzzzA zzcAzzy zzzzZcr Ac orders' q/' zz .szzzy/c
yzzz/qc, appearing to be guilty of perjury, so as to merit commitment for
trial before the UVzzzT q/' GzrczzA, in pursuance of the provisions made by
the Regulations for that purpose, the judge may cause such witness to be
held to bail ; or if satisfactory bail be. not given for his appearance at the
first regular sitting of the TVovzzzczzz/ GozzzT, may cause him to be kept in
custody until he can be brought before two or more judges of the TVcwzzz-
czzzJ UbzzzA but shall not pass a final order to commit the witness for trial
on a charge of perjurv, until the grounds of it shall have been submitted
for the determination of a competent court.
VII. The powers vested by this Regulation in a single judge of a
ZVoz/Zzzcz'zzA UozzzZ q/* zfjupczzA, shall not be construed to prevent the court
at large, or any two judges of the court, from re-examining witnesses
