IT is hereby enacted, that the proviso contained in Clause First, Sec-
tion V. Regulation XXVIII. 1814, of the Bengal code, in regard to
females of rank, shall be applicable, at the discretion of the Courts of
Sudder Dewanny Adawlut of the presidency of Fort William in Bengal
respectively, to any party desirous of appealing in forma pauperis to either
of those courts.

IT is hereby enacted, that Act IV. of 1840 shall not affect the trial of
suits under Regulation XLIX. 1793, which were pending originally or in
appeal at the time of the passing of that Act, and that all such suits shall
be tried and decided in the same manner as if Act IV. of 1840 had not
been passed.
