with a crescent between her breasts. Next ^M>k^\
come Kronos with his bill-hook and Zeus
with his sceptre (?), Ares with helm'et and
lance, Aphrodite with sceptre and four-
rayed star. Then follows a central panel
showing Hermes in his winged petasos.
To right and left of him is a star with
eight rays; and below him are two
lion-heads. The sides of the figure are
occupied by a couple of large winged
thunderbolts. At the back between the
shoulders is an eagle with spread wings
grasping another bolt. Below this, two
winged snakes knotted together and sup-
porting or surrounding the solar disk.
Finally, a series of five more busts—Posei-
don with a trident; Demeter veiled and Fig. 444.
