with a Maenad5, Triton with Libye8, and doubtless many more, in-
cluding even such ungainly partners as Apis with Isis (fig. 300)7.

Perhaps the most interesting of all the differentiated types is
that represented in primis by a double herm found during the exca-
vations of 1885 at Nemi8 and now forming part of a private English
collection (pi. xxii, 1—3)°, in secundis by a very similar herm
