Muscles on each side. It Arises from
the Inferior part of the Os Pectoris,
whence its Upper part Ascends, and
Lower Descends to its Implantations
at the Bony endings of the fourth,
Fifth, Sixth, and sometimes Seventh,
and Eighth Ribs,near their Conjuncli-
ons with their Cartilages.
Its reputed Use by mod (if not all)
Anatomiils, is to Ccntrad the Breast.
The second Order of Muscles (viz.)
such which move the Thorax in Com-
mon with the Contiguous Parts to
which They are assixt; Comprehends
the three Scaleni, two Serrati Antici,
Sahclavius, and Diafhragma.
