23o SUMMARY OF THE SECOND CATALOGUE
Catalogues of which may be had gratis on the Days of Viewing at the Place of Sale
aforesaid; and at Mr. Langford’s, in the Great Piazza, Covent Garden.
Conditions of Sale as usual.’ (14 pp. 8vo.)
[This auction included plaster, modelling clay, scales, ‘A large pair of stilliards that
will weigh 41 hund. 3 qrs. 7 lbs. and case to ditto; a mangle, chests, ‘ a escritore cup-
board ’; steps, stoves, marble of various sorts, and last of all,
‘ 54. Twelve brass moulds of the caesars ’.
A small and unimportant sale indeed as compared with that of May 12. Why lot
No. 2 should have consisted of ‘ Three iron pots, a bomb, and a baking pan ’ I am un-
able to imagine; the Oxford Dictionary throws no light on the employment of bombs
by sculptors.]
